C

C is a performance, installation and text series exploring traces of carbon cycles distributed in forms of exchange between my body and the Mere Downs, UK. Remnants from the performance were collected into vials and recomposed into the work Vestiges, in collaboration with Camilla Nelson and Singing Apple Press. The work involves re-marking a series of text fragments that relay moments of the performance, Vestiges engages with the essence of textual traces embedded in the landscape. The work was exhibited as part of the exhibition Apples and Other Languages, at the Beaumont Gallery, as part of a Mere Fringe Literary Festival in Oct 2018.

CURE combines material traces of textual markers woven between bodies, salt, seaweed, ash and lichen with the equations for respiration and photosynthesis. The work engages with biochemical modes of energetic exchange between human and nonhuman metabolisms as a form of dialogue.

CURE and Vestiges were part of a Mere Fringe Literary Festival in Oct 2018, in collaboration with Singing Apple Press.

C is a performance devised as a process of responding to textual and material traces of carbon cycles between land and sea. The work explores movement as a process of mark-making that reinscribes acts of carbon digestion between bodies. Inredients include: algae extracts, lichen and phycocyanin, tree bark, charcoal, ash, salt and seaweed.
