River Rememberings

How does a River Remember?

River Rememberings is a live performance combining movement, text, and an installation of found objects from the Thames foreshore in Greenwich, London.

The piece explores Thames river ecologies of the past, as a way to rethink our relationship with the river in the future.

Performed as part of MAO Late on 4th August 2022, the work began in the river Thames in Oxford and was followed by a procession with the audience from Christ Church Meadow to the gallery. Back at the gallery, I performed a spoken word text and movement score with objects collected from Thames foreshore in London. An installation of the objects was on display throughout the evening after the performance.

This work was developed as part of the artistic research project Marking Tidetime.
